On Being A Momma

God gave me the most wonderful gifts... my children. But it's hard being a momma. I remember when they were little, when they were hurt, I remember holding them, telling them everything would be alright, and when they were overjoyed, so was I. I felt all of that.   Even though they are grown and have children of their own, I still worry about them, pray for them, want them to have happy, fulfilling lives and know real love. No matter how old they get, they will always be my children.

God reminds me that I need to be like a child, too. In Matthew 18:2-5 it says

He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.  And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is thegreatest in the kingdom of heaven.
We are all God's children. No matter how old we get. He still feels the same emotions we feel towards our children. He gets disappointed, he feels our joy and our pain. He celebrates with us and weeps with us.
"And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me," Says the Lord Almighty.  2 Corinthians 6:18
So when we get frustrated with our kids, or when they do something amazing, remember that you are not the only one feeling those feelings with them. And when you are having a tough time, or are exceedingly joyful, remember that He is with you, feeling those feelings as well. And when you are having a "day" being a Momma, just know that He is there, holding you, telling you everything is going to be alright.
